When you call, the first question is always the same. Is it worth repairing? Here is the answer we usually give over the phone.

Repair, recore or new?

// SHEET 01 — 3 ROUTES
ROUTE 01

Repair

Makes sense when the material is still sound and the damage is external. Something hit it, an impact at work, a cracked tube or fitting.

Copper and brass are soldered. Aluminium is TIG welded where the material allows it. If the base is sound, the repair holds.

CONDITION EXTERNAL DAMAGE
ROUTE 02

Recore

When a radiator starts leaking on its own, with no impact, the material has corroded from the inside. It is not one hole, it is the whole core that has done its job.

Patch one spot and next week it leaks in another. That is why we recommend a recore: your tanks and frame stay, we fit a new core.

ROUTE 03

Custom build

For work machines, tractors and special applications where the original no longer exists, is too expensive or cannot be sourced.

We build from a sample, to dimensions or to your idea. From concept and 3D design to the finished piece. Copper and brass cores outperform mass produced aluminium ones.

ON REQUEST
The most common reason people come to us

Overheating

Most factory radiators today are undersized. Barely enough for rated conditions, not enough for real work. When a machine pulls uphill or works at thirty five degrees, it is no longer enough.

A custom copper radiator solves this at the design stage. More surface area, better thermal conductivity, a core with more capacity than the original.

Our speciality

Classic carsRestoration to original

With classic cars it is not about capacity, it is about faithfulness. A radiator has to look the way it looked and sit where it sat. So we keep the original tanks, brackets and markings, and replace the core with a new one to original dimensions.

When time has done its work and a part of the original cannot be saved, we build it again from a sample. A replica, just as it was.

We admit we are a little more passionate about classics than we probably should be. An old radiator tells you where the machine worked, who repaired it and what was done to it over the years. Many pieces that come to us are older than the workshop itself.

That is why every classic gets its own dossier.

Tractor or work machine?

// SHEET 03

Tractors

A factory radiator is often available and affordable. So we first compare restoration, a new radiator and a custom build, then decide together.

Construction and work machinery

The original often no longer exists or is too expensive and hard to source. We restore and build new, depending on condition and project.

One year on fitted parts.

Lead times are approximate and depend on workshop load. We confirm the exact date on receipt, once we see what we are dealing with.

Sending from abroad

// SHEET 04 — EU

Most of our customers from outside Slovenia never visit the workshop. The radiator travels, you get a restored or new one back.

Send us photos, a sketch or the core dimensions first. We give you an approximate price before anything is shipped. The estimate is free and without obligation.

What the price depends on

// SHEET 05

We cannot quote a restoration or build over the phone before we see the radiator. Two radiators that look the same can differ in price by a factor of two, depending on the condition of the tanks and what has already been done to them.

What we can do is tell you from photos and dimensions which price range we are in, before you ship anything. The estimate is free and without obligation.
